KUCHING: Sabah will be Sarawak President’s Cup opponents at the State Stadium today and on paper, the East Malaysian neighbours will have an edge against Farhan Abdullah boys based on their league standing so far.

But for the Sarawak coach, past results count for nothing and he is confident that his boys can rise to the occasion and give the home supporters something to cheer about at the 4.15pm match.“We respect our opponents, Sabah but that does not mean that we will give them an easy match as  we too need the points,” said Farhan.

However, the coach will have some juggling to do in his team line-up as Valentine James Surat, one of his defenders will have to sit out today’s match as he is on the injured list.“Some of my players are carrying minor injuries and but the most notable absentee in today’s clash will be defender Valentine James Surat,” Farhan said yesterday.

“Valentine will be missed in the defence but I have able replacement to shoulder the duties,” he added.Sarawak so far managed to collect 10 points from fifteen matches, winning two and and drawing four. - By Faizal Bujang
