Dayak Cultural Fest 2013 starts today

The public can look forward to a colourful event steeped in culture today at the Dayak Cultural Fest 2013. The event comprises of Kumang & Keling Nembiak, Ngajat, Nyumpit, Karaoke Dayak Competition and Colouring Contest for Primary Schoolchildren.

This event is organised by the New Sarawak Tribune and Utusan Sarawak, and enters its fourth year this year.New Sarawak Tribune and Utusan Sarawak are always passionate about organising family-oriented events for the readers and general public as well as being supportive towards positive social development in Sarawak.

Today, members of the public will get to see the semi-final of Kumang & Keling Nembiak Competition, held at Sinar Serapi Eco Theme Park Resort in Matang from 7pm onwards.Meanwhile, the final round will be held at Giant Hypermarket Kota Padawan, followed by the semi-final round of Karaoke Dayak Competition on June 30, from 1pm onwards.

July 6 will see the Nyumpit Competition, Colouring Contest for Primary School Children and Semi-Final for Ngajat Solo Competition being held concurrently, from 10am onwards at Boulevard Shopping Mall, Kuching.  Meanwhile, The Final round of Ngajat Solo and Karaoke Dayak Competition will begin from 10am onwards the following day (July 7).Great prizes are up for grabs, courtesy of the kind sponsors for the event. For the Kumang and Keling Nembiak Competition, the champion will receive RM500 worth of prizes, featuring products from our sponsors.

The 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up will receive RM300 and RM200 worth of sponsors’ products respectively.Meanwhile, for the Ngajat competition, the champion will receive RM1,000 worth of sponsors’ products. The 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up will receive RM800 and RM500 worth of sponsors’ products each.

The Nyumpit and Karaoke Dayak competition offers RM500, RM 300 and RM200 worth of sponsors’ products respectively for the first, second and third place winners while the Colouring Contest for Primary Schoolchildren offers RM300, RM 200 and RM100 worth of sponsors’ products for the champion, first runner-up and third place winner respectively.Apart from that, there will also be an exhibition featuring the event’s participating sponsors including ENE (East Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Magnum 4D), Open University Malaysia, Public Mutual, Jenza Enterprise and many more.
