The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Proton Edar Hisham Othman said Saga SV, powered by the same 1.3 litre Campro IAFM engine, was launched earlier in Kuala Lumpur on June 15 and the response was very encouraging, receiving up to 8,000 units on order nationwide within two weeks.

“We have made it about RM5,000 less than the other (Proton Saga) model, without compromising on quality, comfort, driving performance and safety. We only optimized certain accessories in the car but did not take out any features,” he emphasized.

The introduction of the Saga SV is part of PROTON’s effort to continuously provide a better value-for-money vehicle, supporting the government’s commitment to gradually reducing car prices, he stated.

Hisham was speaking at the official launch held at Proton Edar Kuching Jalan Tun Jugah here yesterday, adding the prices are all real OTR prices and they do not come under any promotion or rebate programme.

He disclosed the Saga SV is also a manifestation of PROTON’s commitment to providing and fulfilling the need of every Malaysian, to own an affordable and quality vehicle. It is a car that appeals to everyone - both female and male, married and single.

The Saga SV comes with 13-inch steel wheels, one-din radio with CD player, power steering, manual side mirror control, side turn signal integrated with side mirror, dual airbag, pre-tensioner seat belts, child restraint anchorage and car immobilizer.

It is available in six colours; Solid White, Elegant Brown, Tranquility Black, Genetic Silver, Fire Red and the latest edition Blue Rock. It also comes with a three-year or 100,000km manufacturing warranty (whichever comes first).

Those who are interested can visit any Proton showroom now to view and feel the Saga SV today.
